Career Action Plan

When my Level 3 college course is at a close, i would like to think i would go onto University and carry on my love and passion for the creative media sector. But if i'm being completely honest, i'm really indecisive. I don't feel as though i can make a decision that will completely change my future yet, i feel too young. I know we have to start thinking about the future and when we finish college. I've got 1 year to have a think and decide.

As you can tell from the majority of the work i have displayed throughout this blog, i am really passionate about photography and creating videos. So if i did carry on in education i would like to think it would be something along those lines. As i do a lot of video making and Photography in my spare time it would be convenient and fit my life style. I enjoyed doing the radio work and i feel like that would be a really fun profession to have.

I if i do go to university i think that it would definitely be something within the media industry. I don't think I'd go and study something completely different to what i will have done for 2 years in college.

My plan for now is that i'm going to complete my 2 year course at college. Get distinctions throughout all of my work and see how i feel when u start my second year. As i'm coming to the end of my first year, the majority of my work is complete. Next year some of the tutors work is going to change. We're finishing the graphics style work and starting Film Studies and Photography. So i'm really excited to start these new style lessons next year.

Personal Work

This is work that i do in my own time

As I am into the extreme sports scene, I do a lot of filming and photography when being out with my friends. I really enjoy filming and creating my own videos. My personal YouTube channel is quite popular with 85 subscriptions and over 30,000 overall video views. I make edits for all of my friends and I take pictures of them. I do truly believe that doing this in my spare time help prepare me for the course i'm currently undertaking at college. I have edited and been taking pictures for a number of years now. Throughout being in High School i was very passionate about it and did as much as I could in my spare time.

Below are some examples of pictures I have taken of my friends and underneath that is a couple of examples of the type/style of edits I create that go onto my channel. With one of the pictures I have displayed on this post I actually came second in a photography competition for a local magazine called M44. I got a little shout out in the magazine and my picture was displayed. But the winner got their photograph on the front cover.

Video Work

Throughout my media course I have done a lot of video work. Filming and editing is probably one of my favorite things to do within the media course. I do a lot in my spare time because of the sport i'm into. I upload regular videos to my YouTube channel. The videos below are videos I created to be assessed. I got good marks for them. I was really happy with the outcome of these videos. Each one of these videos were created on Adobe Premier Pro. As i'm familiar with editing I had vague ideas how to use it. Final Cut Pro is what I've used previously so I picked up Adobe quite quickly, there is some things i'm unsure of but i managed to create videos i'm happy with.

Graphic Work

All of the following bellow are what I have created on other Adobe Software's. For example all of the videos were created on After Effects. My E4Sting was originally created in Illustrator then I exported it all out of Illustrator then into After Effects where I then edited it together to create the animation.

The picture below that, the wedding splash was an exercise I did when getting used to Photoshop. As you can see in the 2 pictures, we had to take the bride out of the picture but make it look as professional as possible. Then just a little bellow that is my pen portrait of Sid Vicious from The Sex Pistols. I really enjoyed doing this. If I hadn't of done this exercise I wouldn't of known what to properly do for my E4Sting. Then last of all, at the beginning of our course we had to create a company name and make a logo for it. That is my logo I created using Adobe Illustrator.
